From curiosity to your first move

A small beginning. A story to follow.

  1. Find a world

Browse the world library and read a setting's introduction. Choose a premise you want to explore, or begin with Custom World.

  2. Choose who you will be

Sign in with Google or Discord, then follow the world's setup to select or create your character. Give them an immediate goal.

  3. Make your first move

Describe an action in your own words. Follow the scene, respond to a roll or question, and decide what your character attempts next.

Imagine the first scene

One person. Plenty of possibilities.

The bridge keeper recognizes the seal on your letter. She closes the gate and asks where you found it.

Your possible next move

I keep the letter folded and ask whose seal she thinks it is, watching for anyone listening nearby.

An illustrative scene and player action. Your opening depends on the world and character you choose.

Play without organizing a group

Solo roleplaying gives you room to explore one character's decisions at your own pace. You do not need to schedule a table or find a human game master to begin a Playworlds adventure.

Start with a manageable objective: find a missing courier, earn passage on a ship, or learn why a village bell rings after midnight. Let the larger story grow from the choices you make.

Find an idea for your first adventure

An adventure with character information and dice

Your character is more than a line in a prompt. Playworlds places character information and dice alongside AI narration, so you can refer to the game while deciding what to attempt.

Describe your intent and your approach instead of declaring success. If a scene calls for a check or another choice, resolve that step before moving on. AI narration can make mistakes; check the visible result and your character sheet when something does not agree.

Return to your saved adventure

Sign in with the same account when you return to continue your saved adventure. A short reminder of your current goal can make it easier to pick up the thread after a break.

For a first session, aim to explore one scene rather than finish an entire campaign. A conversation, an investigation, or a difficult choice is enough to discover whether a world suits you.
